CONTEXT
ELEVATE AI for LABS aims to position Artificial Intelligence as a driver for modernizing Quality Infrastructure, boosting innovation, competitiveness and alignment with the European Industry 5.0 and Society 5.0 agendas.

- Demonstrate the impact of AI on Quality, highlighting how it transforms metrology, standardization, conformity assessment and accreditation.
- Clarify the new regulatory landscape, focusing on the AI Act and its impact on value chains and quality services.
- Explore Vision 5.0, highlighting human-machine collaboration and the role of AI in creating smarter and more humane societies.
- Reveal the future of metrology, including smart sensors, autonomous systems, and traceability for algorithms.
- Anticipate challenges in standardization and trust in intelligent systems, reinforcing credibility, transparency, and interpretability.
- Discuss ethical and social factors, from new professional skills to principles of fairness and accountability.

Sacha Eishstädt (PTB)
- Is the leader of the department “Metrology for digital transformation” at the
Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) since mid-2021. - He received his Diploma in Mathematics
in 2008 at Humboldt University Berlin, and his PhD in Theoretical Physics in 2012 at the
Technical University Berlin. - He is a passionate metrologist since 2008 when he joined the group
“Mathematical modelling and data analysis” at PTB to work on measurement uncertainty for time series. - In 2017 he started his adventures in digital transformation of metrology as working group leader of
the group “Coordination Digitalization” in the Presidential Staff of PTB. - He chaired the EURAMET working group "Metrology for digital transformation” from 2020-2022.
- Is chairing the OIML Digitalization Task Group since 2022 and the IMEKO Technical Committee on Digitalization since 2021.

Vânia Silvério (INESC MN)
- Is a Senior Researcher at INESC MN and head of the Microfluidics Laboratory, where she conducts research on microfluidic platforms, Lab on Chip and Organ on Chip, integrating nanotechnology, simulation and microfabrication.
- She plays a central role in international standardization in this field, as Convenor of ISO/TC 48/WG 3 and appointed expert in European standardization groups on Microfluidics and Organ on Chip.
- She is the author of several scientific publications and teaches at the Instituto Superior Técnico, where she is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the areas of Microfluidics and Micro/Nanofabrication.
- She regularly participates as a scientific reviewer and in the organization of international events and is also a member of several international scientific societies.
- She holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico and a degree in Technological Chemistry from the Faculty of Sciences, both from the University of Lisbon.
- She also has a Postgraduate Degree in Higher Education from the Institute of Education at the same university.
Claudia Koch (BAM, QI Digital)
Claudia Koch (BAM, QI Digital)
- Heads the Unit Digitalization of Quality Infrastructure (QI) at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) in Berlin, Germany.
- In this role, she is responsible for the QI-Digital initiative that drives the digital transformation of QI, coordinating various activities, stakeholders, projects, and use cases.
- A particular focus is the development of a digital ecosystem and AI-driven solutions for the QI – which explicitly includes laboratories.
- With her team she conducts various research and stakeholder activities dedicated to the laboratory community, such as dialogue processes, international studies on the digital maturity of laboratories worldwide, and establishing the Digital LabHub.
- Is a lecturer at the Technische Universität of Berlin, where she teaches “Quality Infrastructure and Digitalization.”
- She earned her doctorate in innovation economics at the Technische Universität of Berlin and previously studied business administration and international business law in Germany and China.

Marta Ferreira (CTCV)
- Master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Coimbra.
- Responsible for the Quality Management and Laboratory Accreditation System and for the Management and Improvement Systems business unit at the Ceramics and Glass Technology Centre (CTCV).
- Since the beginning of her professional career, she has been involved in the implementation and improvement of Management and Production Control Systems through the development of projects to improve productivity, optimise processes and reduce costs.
- In the laboratory area, she monitors the CTCV management system and improvement and digitization projects with a view to boosting productivity.
